Chris Stohr and Stephanie Fortado from the Champaign County Board were in attendance to discuss the Board’s upcoming budget process and solicit input on budget priorities. They did a great job of helping us understand what the County Board is responsible for. They also gave us the opportunity to share our concerns about issues that we would like addressed in the 2019/2020 County budget.
Other meeting topics:
Thursday night, August 23, 5:30-7 p.m., is the Urbana Park District’s Play Days in the Park at Victory Park. Stop by at the HEUNA table for a craft project and a goodie bag to take home. It will be a fun time for all—join us!
The Time Bank Pilot program orientation is Saturday. At the end of the 3-month trial period, we’ll decide if a Time Bank is workable and supported in our neighborhood.
Lastly, we hope to schedule a neighborhood potluck in the fall or winter. This would happen at the Baha’i Center. Stay tuned for a date.
Special thanks to Janie Frye and the Baha’i center for their continuing support of our neighborhood. They generously and repeatedly provide a location for our neighborhood meetings and events.
